For any voice recording
Remove background noise from audio
Clean voice memos, interviews, talks and voice-overs recorded in real rooms. The voice stays natural; the background goes.
Cleaned on your own device — the file is never uploaded.
The problem
What gets in the way
Most recordings aren’t made in a studio. A laptop fan, an air conditioner or a busy street sits under the voice, and turning the volume up only makes the noise louder too.
- Steady fan, air-conditioning and computer noise
- Hiss from a cheap mic or a high gain
- Traffic, rain and street sounds
- Keyboard clicks and desk bumps
What you get
A clean voice, ready to use
- Background noise removed, voice kept natural
- Peaks that clipped while recording rebuilt, so the cleaned voice doesn’t crackle
- Your file back in its own format, or WAV, MP3 or M4A
- An even level: podcast, YouTube or broadcast loudness
How it works
Four steps, one clean file
Step 1: Pick your settings
Podcast (−16 LUFS) loudness is a good start for speech. Leave Output format on Same as original to keep your format.
Step 2: Drop the recording
Drag a WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG or Opus file onto the tool, or choose it from your files.
Step 3: Let it clean
Your browser cleans the recording on your own computer and it is never uploaded. The first file takes a little longer while our speech AI loads.
Step 4: Compare and keep it
The clean file downloads by itself when it is ready. Play the A/B preview to switch between original and cleaned at the same moment, or change a setting and choose Download again.
For this recording
Recommended settings
- Loudness
- Podcast (−16 LUFS)
- Output format
- Same as original
−16 LUFS is a comfortable listening level for speech, and the built-in voice clarity trims rumble and boxiness. Choose WAV instead if you will keep editing the file.
Set them in the tool before you add the file: they are used for the automatic download, and you can change them afterwards and download again.
Good to know
- Echo and room reverb stay as recorded: it removes noise, not the sound of the room.
- It is made for speech. Singing and instruments are treated as music and only turned down.
Formats & limits
What goes in, what comes out
- WAV
- MP3
- M4A
- AAC
- FLAC
- OGG
- Opus
Same as original: MP3 stays MP3, M4A and AAC come back as M4A, and WAV, FLAC and OGG/Opus come back as WAV. Or choose WAV, MP3 or M4A.
- WAV keeps the sample rate (up to 48 kHz), bit depth and channel count; a stereo file comes back with the voice in both channels.
- MP3, M4A and video audio tracks are written in mono at about the source bitrate (at least 160 kbps): the cleaned voice sits in the centre.

FAQ
Common questions
What kinds of noise does it remove?
Steady and changing background sounds around speech: fans, air conditioning, computer hiss, traffic, rain, keyboard clicks and the murmur of a busy room. The voice itself is kept.
Is my original file changed?
No. Cleaning creates a new file ending in “-clean”; your original stays as it was.
Will it make my voice sound robotic?
It is tuned to keep speech natural, including soft word starts and endings that simpler noise filters cut off. Use the A/B preview to check the result before you use it.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The cleaning runs inside your browser, on your own computer. Your audio and video never leave your device; our server only receives the file’s length and format to check your allowance.
Is it free?
A free account cleans 30 minutes a month, no card needed. The paid plans, Creator (9 hours), Pro (30 hours) and Studio (100 hours) a month, take files up to 3 hours and 4 GB each. See the pricing page for details.
